This tutorial will walk you through the process of unlocking every unlockable character in Mario Kart Wii. The Mario Kart Wii characters are classified as light, medium, or heavy, based on the kind of kart or bike they may employ. There are also minor variances between the characters (you may note slight statistic changes while trying different characters in the same vehicle). Baby Mario, for example, gets a stat advantage to weight and handling over the comparably light character Toad. The variations are minor and should not dissuade you from selecting your favorites. You may test these by trying several personalities in the same cars.
1. Daisy (baby) or Daisy (adult)
1. Obtain at least one Star Rank for each of the 50cc Wii Grand Prix Cups, or play 1,950 games. This will allow you to access Baby Daisy.
2. You may either win the 150cc Special Cup or play 2,850 games. Daisy will now be unlocked.
2. Luigi, the infant
1. Unlock 8 Expert Staff Ghosts in Time Trials, win 100 Wi-Fi Ghost Races, or play 3,150 games to unlock 8 Expert Staff Ghosts. This will allow you to play as Baby Luigi.
3. Birdo
2. Time Trials on 16 different courses, 250 Wi-Fi races, or 1,350 games are all available. This will provide access to Birdo.
4. Bowser Jr. and Dry Bowser are two of Bowser’s sons.
1. Obtain at least one Star Rank for each of the 100cc Retro Grand Prix Cups, or play 3,450 games. This will allow you to access Bowser Jr.
2. Obtain at least one Star Rank for each of the 150cc Wii Grand Prix Cups, or play 4,350 games. This will allow you to summon Dry Bowser.
5. Diddy Kong’s
1. Play 450 games or win the 50cc Lightning Cup. This will allow you to play as Diddy Kong.
6. Bones that are dry
1. Either win the 100cc Leaf Cup or compete in 1,050 games. Dry Bones will be unlocked as a result of this.
7. King Boo
1. You may either win the 50cc Star Cup or play 750 games. This will provide access to King Boo.
8. Rosalina
1. Have Super Mario Galaxy game files stored to your Wii, as well as the file of the Mii you have in Mario Kart Wii, and play 50 games, obtain at least 1 Star Rank for all Mirror Grand Prix Cups, or play 4,950 games. Rosalina will then be unlocked.
2. Obtain at least one Star Rank for each of the 150cc Wii Grand Prix cups and defeat 18 Staff Ghosts. Rosalina will also be unlocked as a result of this.
9. Toadette
1. Play Time Trials on all 32 courses, win 1,000 Wi-Fi races, or play 2,550 games. Toadette will be unlocked as a result of this.
10. Mii
1. You may either win the 100cc Special Cup or play 1,650 games. This will provide Mii access (Outfit A).
2. Win 5,000 Wi-Fi Ghost Races or play 5,100 games to unlock all (32) Expert Staff Ghosts in Time Trials. This will provide Mii access (Outfit B).
11. Funky Kong
1. Unlock 4 Expert Staff Ghosts in Time Trials, win 25 Wi-Fi races, or play 2,250 games to unlock 4 Expert Staff Ghosts. Funky Kong will be unlocked as a result of this.
